Configuring Outlook 2000 for SMTP Authentication

1. Open Outlook 2000
2. Click on Tools
3. If you see Services listed click here for your intructions. If you see Accounts folow these instructions.
4. Click on Accounts
5. Click on the Mail Tab
6. Double Click on the name of your account

7. This will bring up the mail account Properties box
8. Click on the Servers tab
9. In the Incoming Mail (POP3) field type in pop.dejazzd.com
10. In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) field type in smtp.dejazzd.com
11. Click on the box in front of "My server Requires Authentication." A check mark will be placed in the box
12. Click on the Settings button

13. The Outgoing Mail Server window will appear.
14. Chose the option to "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
15. Click Ok

16. The Properties box will appear. Click Ok to save the changes
17. The Internet Accounts box will appear. Click Close


Configuring Outlook 2000 with Services for SMTP Authentication
1. Click on Services
2. In the Services Tab, Double Click on "Internet Email- mail.dejazzd.com"

3. Click on the Servers Tab

a) Change the Incoming mail (POP3) to pop.dejazzd.com
b) Change the Outgoing mail (SMTP) to smtp.dejazzd.com
c) Click on the box in front of "My server Requires Authentication."
Note: A check mark will be placed in the box.
d) Click on the Settings button

4. The Outgoing Mail Server window will appear.
5. Chose the option to "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"

6. Click Ok
7. The Properties box will appear. Click Apply/Ok to save the changes
8. The next screen that appears will inform you to do the following:
The configuration changes you have made will not take affect until the next time you log into Internet Email. Then Click OK
9. The Services box will appear. Click OK
10. Close out of Outlook and then open it back up.
