Disabling SMTP Authentication for Macintosh Mail version 1.2 (OS 10.2)

1. Open Mac Mail 1.2
2. Click on the Mail menu
3. Click on Preferences.
4. Make sure Accounts is selected under Description.
5. Click on the name of your account under Description.

   

6. Click on the Edit button.

   

7. Click Options under the Outgoing Mail Server section
8. In the Authentication Field click on the Up/Down Arrows and choose NONE
9. Click OK to close the SMTP Server Options window.
10. Click OK to close the Accounts window.
11. Close the Mail Preferences window by clicking on the red X to finish.
