Setting up D&E Jazzd Dial-up Service without the CD

Macintosh OS X (10.x) Setup Walkthrough

To setup a dialup internet connection on OS X (10.x) follow these steps:

Note: You must already have a D&E Jazzd account setup before following these steps. If you do not have an account please call 1-877-905-2993 and choose option 1 for Customer Service.

1. From the Apple menu, click on System Preferences.

2. Click on the Network icon.

3. Click the arrow box on the Show pop-up list and choose your modem.

4. Click on the TCP/IP tab.

Click the arrow box on the Configure pop-up list and choose Using PPP.
Leave the Domain Name Servers box blank. (may say DNS Servers)
Leave the Search Domains box blank.

5. Click on the PPP tab.

In the Telephone Number field, type the local access number.
(If you see an "Alternate Number box, leave it blank)
In the Account Name field, type your username.

Username Formatting:

New customers & converted users as of January 3, 2006 use:
Example: username@dejazzd.com

Lancaster, York, and Harrisburg Area users your login name will be in this format:
Example: username.dejazzd.com

All other areas your login name will be in this format:
Example: username@dejazzd.com
In the Password field, type your password.
Check the box next to Save password if you want to save your password.

6. Click on the PPP Options button.

Check the box next to Connect automatically as needed.
(Note: Older OS X computers may say Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications).
Click the OK button.
Click the Apply Now button.
Close the Network window.

At this point your mac should be ready to connect to the internet. You may click on your web browser (Safari, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, whichever you use) to visit websites and you should automatically be connected to the internet.
