Must-have internet related FREE applications.  All these programs are provided for free from the maker of each program.  Each download is taken directly from the program makers web site to ensure that you get the most up-to-date version possible.

> Firefox Browser

> Google Pack

The Google Pack of software includes essential software for your PC.  This free download comes with Google Earth, Adobe PDF Reader, Picasa (Photo organizer), Google Desktop (Hard drive searching tool), Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer, and a few other applications.

> Ad-aware
Free spyware, adware removal program.  If you get a lot of popup windows when surfing or your computer runs slow while on the internet, you may have spyware or adware.  Use this program to delete those hidden programs on your computer.

> AOL Instant Messenger
A popular IM (instant messaging) program created by America Online, also known as AIM.

> WinZip
WinZip is a file compress utility, most internet users simply use it to "unzip" a file download.

> WINAMP
A popular MP3 music player.

> iTunes
Another popular MP3 music player, made by Apple and allows you to connect to the iTunes Music Store to buy music online.

> Quicktime
Quicktime is a video player, made by Apple.  Lots of movie trailers are viewable in quicktime, as many other multimedia documents stored on the internet.

> REAL Player
A similar video/music player to Quicktime.  The REAL Players main focus is on streaming audio and video.  They have a members only section that costs extra to get into.

> Macromedia Flash Plugin
Most new computers come with this installed, and over 95% of all internet connected computers have the flash player installed.  If you know you don't have it or just want to download an updated version click the link above.
