Features - Anti-Spam and virus Filtering

In our ongoing efforts to improve D&E Jazzd Internet e-mail services, we've added anti-spam and virus protection to all subscribers email addresses.

This upgrade, provided free to all subscribers, provides a dramatic decrease in the amount of unsolicited bulk e-mails you receive!

To provide this service, we have selected Brightmail Anti-Spam software, which is highly regarded in the industry for its accuracy in identifying incoming e-mails as spam. This service will automatically intercept and delete spam - before it reaches your in-box. However, if you don't want spam automatically deleted, you will be able to select a different option. (Read further down the page for how to do this)

Brightmail provides anti-spam protection for more than 300 million e-mail users. According to the company's web site, in September 2003, it scanned more than 70 billion messages, and identified 54 percent of them as spam. PC Magazine recently awarded Brightmail an Editor's Choice Award for Best Enterprise Class Anti-Spam Software.

Working with Symantec, Brightmail also provides anti-virus protection. That software will automatically intercept e-mails containing viruses and either clean or delete the infected files, to help protect both your computer and our own network from the effects of computer worms and viruses.

You can change the default setting by logging into the members' section located at:
https://signup.dejazzd.com/members/email

  • Scroll down the page until you see your email address and click on the edit button.
  • This will take you to an edit menu screen that contain Spam options.
  • Click on the drop down menu to view the options.

You have three options to choose from

1. Discard all incoming Spam email - this is the default setting.

2. Sideline into Spam folder. This will place all Spam sent to you into a separate folder so you can view them separately from your regular email. You can only view these emails from webmail, and if you do not have any Spam emails this folder will not be visible. Emails that are 7 days old that are in your Spam folder will be deleted daily.

3. Receive all Spam. This will allow you to continue to receive all Spam into your regular mailbox.

You may change your settings at any time. Changes will take affect within minutes after changing. However, we feel you will benefit and enjoy using your Jazzd email account by using the default setting. Click here to go to the Technical Support Pages for Anti-Spam settings.
